Knowledge of my own mortality and a general fear of death. I feel the need to get everything done that I can while I'm alive because life is such a fragile thing and you never know when your number will be up. So I work my ass off to achieve my goals because I could get hit in the head with a brick of blue ice from the sky and die tomorrow.

I know that probably sounds a bit dramatic, but it's true. I swear I'm not this much of a downer in real life.

Shit man, that's an easy question. To tell stories and make something people can enjoy.

A big part of what I like to create is escapism. The world's a heavy place (now more than every) so when I paint, draw, make comics, whatever, I want to create something that is a little different than they see everyday. If I pull that off, I'm happy.

The possibilities. Of the art form, the chance to change public perception, to tell a story from my own unique perspective. That's what keeps me driving towards my goals as an illustrator.
